For several years, David Milner has been compiling a register of British Soldiers who served in the Napoleonic Wars, with special emphasis on the Battle of Waterloo. The register is designed to serve as a guide for researchers seeking details about individual soldiers and has several thousand names on it. The register is far from complete but includes soldiers who were killed in service, those who were wounded, those who were granted a pension and those, the majority, who were simply discharged with next to nothing and left to fend for themselves. David is always happy to hear from researchers with real or suspected military ancestors and will be delighted to check these out. Please email David with as much supporting information as you have. Requests are accepted on the basis that you agree to their inclusion in the register and access to other researchers, although your personal details will not be disclosed without your permission. Also please note that David will not undertake 'one name' or 'blanket' searches.
