Why Not Join Us?
It does not matter if your ancestors were not born in Weston-super-Mare or North Somerset. In 1804 the population of Weston-super-Mare was only 106 so it is not surprising that there are not many Westonians amongst us! Many of our local members have no connection with Weston until they themselves came!
With our interactive website there are great features available only to society members on completion of the online registration process, meaning you will be able to:
- add & edit your own Surname Interests,
- add your own members new items, articles, stories,
- post a comment on any news item, transcript record, interest record, library
book, or any other item published on the site, - read (or download) and search any Society Parish Transcripts,
- read (or download) Society Journal articles,
- view a complete list of the contents of our Library and pre-request the loan
of any book, - send emails to members for any purpose, e.g. where you have common
Surname Interests or wish to collaborate on other matters.
As you can see, our new site is an exciting development, introducing a whole new way for us to manage and enjoy our Society. It also brings new ways for us to interact with each other. And we are not finished there! Future developments will include a fully searchable transcript database and facilities for uploading files and phots for sharing.
Whether a beginner or more experienced there is a place for you with us.
Membership Details
Our year starts on the 1st January, those joining towards the end of the year may indicate that they wish their membership to commence on the following 1st January. A person joining during the year will be sent back copies of the Journal for that year if available. Three types of membership are offered:
