I need help to sort out the children of Henry WILLIAMS who was Weston Worthy No 39. He married three times. First to Martha May MARCHANT in 1842 in Bridgwater and their children were born in Bridgwater and then Weston-super-Mare. After her death he married Emma SHORNEY and they had one daughter. His third marriage to Harriet Eland BRYANT produced three more children. It's his children by Martha MARCHANT born in Weston who are causing the problem. I think they were non-conformist so there are no christenings and the birth registrations do not match the census entries.
Were there two children called Ellen or Helen Georgy?
Was Louisa on the 1851 census registered and buried as Helen in 1851?
Who was Marina on the 1861 census?
Who was the 5 month old Laura Emma WILLIAMS who was buried at Emmanuel 12 Oct 1853 - was she one of theirs?
I have a colleague in Australia (born in Templecombe) who is looking to use a paid family history researcher. Most of the research would involve looking at documents in the Somerset Heritage Centre, Taunton. They have researchers there but their hourly rates are fairly high. Does anyone have any recommendations on researchers in this area?
I would be interested (I would probably do it for the petrol money) but my job often gets in the way of doing something much more interesting instead!
Please would you remind me how to access the 20 minute video of the history of the cemetery - the one produced by the Town Council. Many thanks, Derrick Norton
KOPP in Yatton published by Pat Hase on Thu, 20/05/2021 - 17:42
I have had a query about finding an address in Yatton of someone with the surname KOPP who was living there in the 1950s but had moved to Clevedon by 1960. It is thought they lived in a bungalow and may have attended an RC Church. The husband was a piano tuner. Any suggestions of how to find this address would be welcome.
We have been contacted by Tim Bickerdike asking for help in providing details/memories/photos about the men who served with the North Somerset Yeomanry during WW1.
The men were mostly from Bath, South Bristol, WsM and Shepton Mallet areas.
Details will be included in a roll of honour and book he is writing about them.
Hugh Camplin PARSLEY married Emily ESCOTT in Christon in 1838 and they had two children christened in Christon in 1839 and 1841 before his death in November 1841, aged only 25. Emily married again in 1845 in Weston to John KIRKBRIDE and had another family. But I can't find what happened to her PARSLEY children until Harriet Emily PARSLEY, her daughter married in 1866 in Compton Bishop with the marriage witnessed by John & Emily KIRKBRIDE. Can anyone find them?
