I received an old postcard from Peter Lander (Birnbeck Pier Regeneration Trust) showing damage caused by the 1903 storm at Weston, on the reverse of the card is some information about a family, are you researching these names?

The post card was posted in 1903 and in 1901 a Robert HADWIN and family, including an Esther HADWIN were living at a different address in Clifton Road.  However, in 1910 when Esther  "Ettie" HADWIN married Bernard TAYLOR her wedding reception was at Westwood, Clifton Road - see Weston Gazette Sept 21 1910.  The article also lists her wedding presents and the people who sent them.

The HADWIN family must have arrived in Weston from Lancashire, where Ester was born in about 1893.  A son, Alfred Joseph HADWIN was born in Weston in about 1894 and from our transcriptions he was baptised at St Paul's  when 12 years old.

Coincidentally my father-in-law purchased property from Alfred HADWIN in the 1920s.

Esther had two other brothers John Henry Percival and Ernest Ferdinand (he died and was buried in Weston, aged 6) who were born in Lancashire and it is possible that descendants of the elder one might still be in the locality.

Can anyone add to this?
