Emily Beese published by on Fri, 27/07/2012 - 9:08
My g/grandmother Emily Beese lived in WSM in the early 1900's.
I have a note in family records that shelived at 8 Alice Maud cottages and that she was a matron in a hospital.
however 1911 census shows her as a servant to a Mary Brook inthe Boulevard.
She died in Axbridge 1929, but I don't know where to find her burial.
Ialso have an old photo of WSM pier, with superimposed pictures of 2 men and 1 woma, I think in Salvation Army uniform- no idea if these people may include my family.
Can anyone local give me ideas of where to look next please

I am attaching a photo of some unnamed men who I believe may be Palmers. This photo has intrigued me for a long time but I have no idea who they are or what date the photo was taken. Does anyone recognise anyone?
This photograph was taken at the wedding of Robert James Miller US Army and Peggy Pearce on the 5th March 1945 at Holy Trinity Weston Super Mare.
The witnesses included Joseph Turner the best man also a US Army soldier. The other witnesses were D Derrick & E Derrick.
The daughter of Joseph Turner is trying to identify members of the wedding party. If you have any information please let me know and I will pass it on or put you in touch with Joseph's daughter.

I am seeking information on Elizabeth Jay. According to the 1901 Census, she lived with her husband Robert Jay at 62 Jubilee Rd in WsM. She was born in WsM in abt 1870. I have been unable to locate any marriage information so do not know her maiden name or her parents names. Any assistance gratefully received
