Looking for any information about my Great Grandfather, William Rawlings, born in 1864. I believe him to be the son of George Rawlings, born in Clevedon in 1830. He had a brother, John. They both emigrated to the United States approximately 1883 - John first, followed by my Great Grandfather William. Emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, USA. I'm trying to find his (William A Rawlings) roots in England, as he had three children in Cleveland, then died at the young age of 27. His son, also William A, born in Cleveland, Ohio, never knew his father, and so we have no historical knowledge of him or his roots. Any information is appreciated.
best regards,
Peter Rawlings

Hi
Your site and members have previously helped me with research and this is a follow up question.
My great great grandfather died in Ireland aged about 77. Probate Record states
JOHNSON the reverend Thomas Gilpin of 12 Severn-road Weston-super-Mare clerk died 20 July 1916. Effect to Ellen Johnson widow.
I have since found that 12-14 Silvern Road is "Innisfree" Residential Care Home and wondered about the history of this building, and what it was in 1916.
My husband's Great Great Grandfather George Pym was born and raised in Brean, Somerset by his parents George 1793-abt1875 and Hannah (born in Bristol 1801). This man married Maria Coombs in Axbridge before emigrating with two children to Australia in 1857 along with a brother John. Five siblings remained in England, two of whom stayed living with their mother Hannah after the passing of their father George. Hannah died in 1882 and there are no further records I can obtain beyond that. Three of the daughters appeared to have married into the families of Miles, Brooks and Tout. I would like to find out about some of the local history of the families in Brean around that time and beyond. The census' available do not specify house numbers but I would be keen to see how many original houses still exist from the early 1800's. I would also like to find out Hannah's maiden name. We live in Australia and have limited access. I have drained my resources from ancestry.com.
Any information appreciated.
My great great grandfather, John Matthews, was owner/manager of the Royal Potteries in the 1870's and 80's. He died on 22 June 1892 at the Imperial Hotel, WSM, as a result of an accident. The cause of death was 'laceration of the brain produced by fracture of the base of the skull, result of an accidental fall'. An inquest was held on 23 June 1892. Does anyone have any further information, please? Newspaper reports? Is it possible to get hold of a copy of the coroner's certificate or inquest report?
