Weston Crematorium opened in 1966 and it is possible that he might have been cremated.  There is a Book of Remembrance online but it only has the names entered and paid for by relatives so is not a complete list of cremations.  Unfortunately, William George SMALL is not entered.

There might be an announcement of his death in the local newspapers which are not yet online but can be seen on film in our local Library.  If there is time during the Free Help Session on Saturday it is possible that one of our volunteers could investigate this as you have given his date of death as 13th November 1976.

Hi Graham,

I have a second enquiry, hopefully you can help.

George Small (b. 15/09/1877 d. 1953 in Weston-super-mare), would be be buried at Milton Road Cemetery by any chance?

Also his wife

Matilda Small (b. 1879 d. 1955 in Weston-super-mare)

Thanks

Looking at the 1939 Register George & Matilda Small were living at 120 Kenn Road, Clevedon.

Although their deaths were registered under Weston District they are most probably buried in Clevedon.

Hi Graham,

Yes they were but as you mentioned deaths registered under Weston district. I have not located them in any Clevedon cemtery/churchyard as yet.

The Weston District was created out of the Axbridge and Long Ashton Registration Districts and covers most of the parishes in North Somerset including Clevedon.

Any death registered under the Weston District could relate to one of 50+ parishes that made up this registration district.
