Weston Bar in about 1957 published by Pat Hase on Wed, 07/11/2018 - 17:49
Not really Family History but I have received this query about a Bar in Weston - possibly called Rockside Bar. Can anyone help?
"When visiting Weston-super-Mare in about 1957 there was a bar selling Watneys Red Barrel, it had one wall that was a stone wall with plants and water present. I think it may have been part of the Royal Pier Hotel. It was entered from the promenade at sea level. I have been trying to find out about it for a while. Rockside Bar seems to stick in my memory, please can you help."
Obviously this bar played a part in the memories of the enquirer - does anyone recognise the bar?
Ive just been talking to Weston's local historian & he has some information that may well help you so I wonder if you can get in touch with him please - Brian likes requests made to him to be in writing by post so here is his name & address

You must think me a bit slow but I've only just realised that this query was published by you & in the replies I made I thought it was just as if you were someone asking for help from the FHS not one of the best researchers that I've ever met.
I honestly hope that all is going very well for you
All the very best

ps I'm in Worcestershire for a few weeks if you have any look ups that need doing here within reason
