I was surprised to find ALWAIE in Wedmore in our transcriptions of marriages in the 16th century. Is this your family? Is SALWAIE also yours?

Hi Pat

The interesting name ALWAIE came up whilst researching the Clapp Family. It seems that my 9th great-grandfather John Clapp (1583 - 1626) married Lea Hobbs who's parents were Richard Hobbs and Elizabeth Alwaie married in Wedmore 16/06/1569. I am interested in understanding the context around family members and intrigued to find an unusual name. I would be interested in information about the ALWAIE family
