Hello
I wondered if anyone could help with a query about Institution records.
I have recently established that three cousins x1 removed, male siblings aged 9, 13 and 16 years, were all residents in Yatton Hall at the time of the 1939 register
They had two sisters, one of whom was resident in Sandhill Park in 1939, she was also 9 years (twin sister of one of the boys)
Are there any surviving records from either institution that anyone knows of?
I am curious to establish why four of the children were in an institution
Their mother and father were alive - they had separated and were living at different addresses

My maternal ancestry is traced back as far as Henry Rice (1748 - 1825) who married Diana/Dinah Ford at St George's Church, Easton in Gordano, on 15th March 1784. As yet I have been unable to go back further than Henry.
Hopefully there are a few more descendents within the Rice family able to help.
I wondered if anyone could help. I have two great uncles named on the Grove Park war memorial (Alec Baker and Leonard Baker), and I wondered how I could find out more about them, how/when they died etc. My nan would never talk about it (they were her brothers), so nothing is really known about them. Thanks in advance for any help!
Hello,
I am looking for the birth record of my Grandad, who was born on 28 May 1945 somewhere in Somerset.
His name is David Cedric (Carter), but his mother, Phyllis Anne Carter was unmarried when he was born (her surname at that point was Sly), and she married Ernest Henry Carter in or around 1947.
I think Grandad (David's) birth certificate had "Nash" as the surname, that was Phyllis' parents' surname (her mother and step-father). Phyllis was only 16 when David was born, so there would have been some cover up.
They all lived in Shepton Mallet before moving to Glastonbury and West Pennard, but for some reason there is an indication he might have been born in Weston-Super-Mare.
Does anyone know how I can get more information?
Beth
My name is Bill Carroll and I live in Charlotte, NC, USA. My great-grandparents, Francis and Florence SLADE, lived in the Lympsham area in the latter half of the 19th century. Francis was had 21 siblings and was the son of Edward and Amelia Slade. I have located a few records of some of Edward and Amelia's other children, but not much. Any help or other connections would be appreciated.
