CommentsChaplin Family published by - 6 years 8 months 1 day ago. | | From Mr Edwin "Charlie" Chaplin
Hello Wayne,
I have a william Chaplin in my family tree, the 3rd of 5sons and 3 daughters born to Henry and Sarah (nee Pitts) Chaplin. Their youngest Son, George is my Great Grandfather and whilst my sister and husband live in Whorle they "don't get about much" these days so I would certainly be interested is seeing some photographs of Grave Stones in Wick St Lawrence as we live in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, so can't, I'm afraid, just pop over. I would also be interested in comparing notes with regard to our respective trees.
Kind Regards, Charlie

Rice Family published by - 6 years 8 months 1 day ago. | | I also am descended from Henry Rice & Dinah from my paternal side and also have the same problem not being able to go further than Henry my 5th Gt Grandfather.
My line goes from his daughter Dinah/Diana who married William Durbin, 1809 Henbury Church, then their daughter Mary Ann 1815-1841 married George Brown 1833 Dundry. Then William Brown 2 X Gt grandfather, Elizabeth Ann Brown, Gt Grandmother, who married Walter Chard and their son Clifford Clarence Chard my grandfather who survived WW1 but lost a leg.

Yatton Hall and Sandhill Park published by Pat Hase - 6 years 8 months 1 day ago. | | Some years ago I was interested in a young girl who was sent to Sandhill Park from Axbridge Union Workhouse. It turned out that she had learning difficulties and spent several years at Sandhill.
In 1939 Sandhill was described (using the terminology of the day) as a "Certified Institution and Residential Special School for mental defectives". Yatton Hall, was part of the Sandhill Park Group Hospital and there are some records at the South West Heritage Trust at Taunton but not all are open for research. Do contact them to see what is available - Telephone: 01823 278 805 or email somersetarchives@swheritage.org.uk.
