I can be contacted on 01934 412093 or email: arthur.redman@gmail.com. I will gladly share all the information I have on the REDMAN family with you. I have traced the family from 1678 when Johannes RIDMAN (REDMAN) of Priddy married Elainor WARMAN of Cocklake at St Marys Church, Wedmore, on the 8th August. Generations of the family lived ar Wedmore, Westham,Blackford, Mark and Weston super Mare and spread to USA, Australia and New Zealand

Is Gerald REDMAN purely interested in the name of the road, the family or both. If he contacts me I can help as I have researched the Redman family widely. Ancestors of the particular branch of Redman from the area of Redmans Hill, now live in Gloucestershire.

Thanks Dave, that's useful.

That might be the road in which Gerald Redman is interested.   If so, by looking at the tithe map and early censuses it does look as if a family by the name of REDMAN was farming in Blackford and owned land in that area.  It seems likely that it could have been named after them.

Where is this Redman Hill?  It's not a road I'm familiar with.
