George TYLEY

I think it's calculated from the burial record, age 65 in 1835. I also found two George Tileys in Clutton, in 1767 & 1769, and Batheaston in 1779. They're on FreeReg.

Can I ask how you know that George was born in 1770?

I had seen that and it's possible that he could have been baptized at 7 years old. Only has a name for father listed, William Tiley with no location. There is also a William Tiley baptized in 1779 at St. Mary's Wedmore with William Tiley listed as father (no mother's name) that is probably a brother to George listed in 1777 and in the record it states for the father Wm Tiley "in the barrow". Would that be Berrow ? Rowberrow ? Barrow Gurney ? I cannot find any other info on this William Tiley to see if his son George is the "correct" George TYLEY. Thanks

I found a baptism record in 4 Nov 1777 in Wedmore. I didn't see the actual page & I haven't checked Ancestry to see what they have so that may not be the one.

15 Burlington Street

I haven't found John Jakeway in the newspapers but I have found his wife, Mary Ann.  Mary Ann was convicted of stealing meat and provisions and sentenced to nine months hard labour in Shepton Mallet prison in 1880.  On her release she returned to 15 Burlington Street, so this information didn't help in respect of the address.  Any further details you are able to locate would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure of the date as its a copy I made in the Boullevard library but I think it was 1913  When I go to the library on Saturday I will see if I can find John Jakeway  Did he do anythig to get his nane in the papers  If yes I'll see what I can find in the Local Newspapers
