CommentsMary PIPE née HEMBURY published by Pat Hase - 9 years 1 months 20 days ago. | | HEMBURY and its variants was fairly common around Burnham, Mark and Wedmore so it would be wise to take a closer look at those and surrounding parishes . FreeREG does not yet have a complete range of Somerset Parishes and of course she may not have been christened as a child but when she was older (one of my own ancestors was christened the day before he got married aged 25). There is also the possibility of non-conformity and as all marriages had to take place in Church of England churches between 1752 and 1837 - unless you were a Jew or a Quaker - that doesn't necessarily mean that she attended a church.
Where did Mary PIPE die? - your heading suggests 1841 but the Mary PIPE whose death was registered in Somerset in 1841 was only 40 when she died in Bath.
I've just found a Mary PIPE alive on the 1841 census in Lympsham, aged 80 - which does suggest a much earlier date of birth, given that ages were approximated downwards to the nearest 5 years. Our transcriptions show a Mary HEMBURY christened in 1755 at Huntspill d/o Philip & Mary which you might like to consider.

Mary Pipe (1772?-1841) née Hembury? published by - 9 years 1 months 20 days ago. | | Thank you Dave. I eliminated Mary HEMBRY from Burnham-on-Sea as a Mary HEMBRY (same spelling) married John DOD in Burnham-on-Sea 19 September 1792.

Mary PIPE nee HEMBURY published by daveerasmus - 9 years 1 months 21 days ago. | | Did you conduct your FreeReg search with the "Soundex" box ticked? I ask because there was a Baptism of a Mary HEMBRY at Burnham-on-Sea on 11 July 1774. The parents were Ricahard and Ann. It might be worth following up.

BREAN Wrington published by - 9 years 1 months 23 days ago. | | Well we connect via William, who is my 5 x greatgrandfather I am from his 1st wife Sarah Wollen. Their son Thomas married to Susannah Singer, their son Paul married to Nancy Brown their daughter Ann who married James Horlor who had Charles Horlor who married Elizabeth Ann Chicken (Bishop Wearmouth met via glassworks I surmise)and had Louisa my grandmother.
I have William and 2nd wife Mary Singer with Rebecca born 1760 (11 children in all including a Paul 1757)

BREAN Wrington published by DebbieD - 9 years 1 months 23 days ago. | | My link is with my 4 x great grandmother Harriet who married William PRATLETT in Worle in 1809 - transcribed as PREAN on both FreeReg and the WsMFHS transcripts.
I am now pretty certain that Harriet was the 'baseborn' daughter of Rebecca BREAN baptised in Wrington 25 Jan 1788 - a note states 'Aged 6 years 21 May next'.
Rebecca BREAN (1760-1833) was the daughter of William and Mary (possibly nee SINGER).
William and Mary (probably died 1797) also had a son Paul baptised in 1757 so I am now trying to work out how our trees connect as I have no dates for William yet apart from the possible marriage to Mary SINGER in 1749.

Rescue Home and P.A.C. Hospital published by - 9 years 1 months 23 days ago. | | Hi Pat,
Thanks for your reply. I'm unsure if my mum would have been evacuated as s I thought only kids from the cities were evacuated.
I live in the North East of England so due to work commitments etc will find it difficult to visit Weston library in the near future.
Is there a possibility that someone could have a look at the records for me for a research charge?
My mothers full name was Stella Benita Clarke which is a quite distinctive name.
Thanks for your help on this matter. | |
