Hello Pat, - how lovely to hear from you, and many thanks for your reply.
Ha Ha, - no for some reason, I didn't pick up the other Joan entry for Thornbury, - how strange!
I haven't found anything in the 1939 Register, and on all but one of the Passenger Lists, their home address was given as Imperial Hotel, Russell Square, London. the other address given on the 1926 journey was Pond House, Banwell.
Was it not the law to register all births? As an aside, the friend I am doing this for is one of a twin (girls), and interestingly, I have found 2 other sets of twin girls, that were not known about, and when I initially saw Patricia and Joan being late recorded as both on June qtr 1926, I thought I had found another set! It would seem not to be the case in that the girls were born at different times, according to the shipping schedules and lists, but I do therefore wonder as to how and why they were late registered as being born at the same time, - and 30 years later. Another part of the story is that Patricia & Joan attended Cheltenham Ladies College!
Thanks again Pat, - on another matter you may recall our very first meeting all those years ago, you kindly helped me with some steps in researching my mother's line 'Parratt', when at that time I was stuck on my grandfather! Since then, I have had an extremely exciting ride, tracing steps from Bath to Utah, and a while back wrote an article about some aspect of my 'Parratt' research which I thought might make interesting reading for you. Can I send a copy to you? I don't know if your e-mail address is available for me to send it as an attachment? You can contact me on davecourt@cpsoutlook.co.uk
All best wishes,
Dave
