Findmypast Worldwide published by - 9 years 5 months 21 days ago. | | While a great offer and I know if works as have recommended it to others, unfortunately it only works if you already have a Worldwide Sub. If you have a Britain sub I gather it only creates a subscription that runs parallel to the Britain sub you already have. If I go to upgrade, it just shows an expiry date for this day next year. Although there have been half price Britain sub offers recently, they never work now extending Britain subs which seems somewhat unfair.

Findmypast published by Anne - 9 years 5 months 22 days ago. | | It's possible to get a year's global membership for $50 (about £36) by accessing the USA FMP site on www.findmypast.com using the following voucher code 75FSJAN16. If you already have a subscription it is added on (I've just tried it).

Findmypast on their Facebook published by - 9 years 5 months 22 days ago. | | Findmypast on their Facebook page have said that the 1939 Register will also be available to view in any UK Library with a subscription to their site from 16 Feb. Although not all libraries have this, it may help anyone who only has a monthly subscription as it won't be included with those, only with annual subscriptions.

Richard HODGES - London House published by Pat Hase - 9 years 5 months 27 days ago. | | I made some enquiries via the North Sedgemoor Local History Group and have had this reply:
"I think the question refers to Wharf Cottage, Berrow Road, Burnham and is mistakenly referred to in the enquiry as "London House". The reference is taken from The Book Of Burnham on page 142 and is definitely Wharf Cottage.
Using ancestry and the various Census records we have
1841 Richard Hodges Grocer in Berrow (village)
1851 Richard Hodges Shop keeper in Berrow (village)
1861 Richard Hodges Coal dealer at Wharf Cottage, Berrow Road, Burnham
1871 Richard Hodges living in Cardiff
1871 Guy Hodges (his son) coal dealer at Wharf Cottage, Berrow Road, Burnham
1881 Guy Hodges as above
1891 Guy Hodges, St Annes (this is the same premises with a different title)
1901 Guy Hodges, Berrow Road (ditto)
1911 Guy Hodges (In Canada ???)

If you look closely at this photograph you just about determine the name "Hodges" on the sign adjoining the road.
A new house now occupies the site, having been built within the last 5 years or so."
With thanks to John Strickland and Alan Wheway for this reply.
