Liverpool to Maryborough in 1862 on board The Ariadne

"The first migrant ship to call direct at Maryborough was the barque Ariadne (built in 1861 of 671 Tons). She arrived on 9 October 1862. This was the turning point for the Maryborough and Wide Bay Region, and the number of passengers from the Ariadne swelled the population of Maryborough by one third."

Mary Ann TAYLOR b. 1844 Claverham

Congratulations Joy! - Now why didn't I think of an adult baptism for Mary Ann?! - It just shows how someone else looking at the facts can sometimes solve the problem from a different angle.  Presumably she was christened shortly before she left for Australia in 1862.

Did you notice that apparently Mary went on to have more children (the grandsons you have on the 1861 census) - Tom (not John) who was born and christened in 1852 and Henry born in 1858 and christened in 1864.  On the 1871 census Mary is listed as unmarried with these two sons and her mother, Ann, living with her.

In 1872 in Yatton - Mary TAYLOR married a widower, Alfred KNOWLES.

So Bob now has an additional generation in his tree with John & Mary TAYLOR as Mary Ann's grandparents -thanks to Joy

Mary Ann TAYLOR b. 1844 Claverham

Claverham is in the parish of Yatton and although there are baptisms for several children of a John & Ann TAYLOR of Claverham (including that of a daughter, Mary TAYLOR in 1822). I haven't yet found a christening of a Mary Ann TAYLOR in our transcriptions.  Ann would have been 50 when Mary Ann was born - not impossible but worth questioning.

Is it your Mary Ann TAYLOR who was a servant in the Butcher's Arms in Yatton in the 1861 census?

Having looked at the 1841
published by - 11 years 6 months 19 days ago.

Having looked at the 1841 entry I suspect it reads "Manor House".  I don't know the area & I'm sure there are members who do, but looking at the map it looks as if North Road may have been renamed "Coast Road" & therefore you may be looking at a house along that road, especially as his 1851 neighbours were Coastguards.
