SPERRIN in Australia published by tonysperrin - 11 years 9 months 3 days ago. | | Hi Lea
As you must recall, we were in contact for quite a while regarding SPERRINS' in UK and Australia. I assumed you had all the details you required regarding SPERRIN in UK. Zephaniah indeed had at least 11 siblings. A comment Jane SPERRIN made in court in Weston-super-Mare was that she had had 14 children in total. I can give you birth year of all the 11 known siblings plus some of the death dates and who six of them married. Zepahaniahs parents and some siblings are buried in WSM Cemetery. Sadly photos, as far as I am aware are nowhere to be found until the 1930's when a few descendants photos are available
I see that you have still found no trace of Zephaniah after his second marriage. I live in hope that one day records may be found to give the answer to that.
Reply here or my email which I assume you still have

John George SPERRIN published by tonysperrin - 11 years 9 months 3 days ago. | | Pat. My great great grandfather was the John George SPERRIN(G) who married Jane (not Ann) COULTER. John George has only been found in 1851 and 1861 Census. In 1851 his birth place is given as Blagdon, not far from West Harptree, birth date as 1801. In 1861 his birth place is now Clevedon birth date now 1798. I had seen that baptism in West Harptree and I also wondered if this could be my GGfather. I have never found any trace of his birth in Blagdon or Clevedon

SPERRIN and SPERRING families published by Pat Hase - 11 years 9 months 4 days ago. | | This is all fascinating! Could John George SPERRIN who married Ann COULTER have been the George SPERRING the son of John & Betty SPERRING who was christened in West Harptree in 1798 aged 18 months?
I really would like to sort this one out because my own gg grandmother was a Lavinia SPERRIN who was born in West Harptree in about 1825 (so not the Lavinia who was the daughter of John George & Ann who was born in Worle in about 1830)

BOARD Family published by Pat Hase - 11 years 9 months 4 days ago. | | Thank you Grant, that makes it a little easier. Looking through the marriages in Lympsham on our site I can see that this was not the first time that a BOARD from Berrow had married a BOARD from Lympsham. There was a marriage in 1789 of a Robert BOARD from Berrow to a Jemima BOARD from Lynpsham.
Going back to Joseph & Ann - the only christening I can see for an Ann BOARD of about the right age is in Lympsham on the 13th Dec 1789 and she is charmingly entered as the bastard daughter of "Shardy" BOARD. That's a name I haven't come across before!
However there is a burial of a Shardy BOARD in Mark on the 24th May 1817, aged 50 which would suggest that she was born in about 1767. On the 15th May 1764 a daughter was christened to Ferdinando & Betty BOARD in Burnham on Sea - all the transcriptions I can see have her name as unreadable but ending with a "y". [request to Graham - when you have a moment could you look at the fiche for Burnham to see if that entry might be "Shardy"? - Thanks]
A Joseph BOARD appears in the Berrow transcription on this site christened on the 16th Mary 1790 as the son of Robert & ------? BOARD. Could this be the couple I mentioned at the beginning who were married in Lympsham in 1789 - Robert BOARD and Jemima BOARD?
I look forward to your comments.
