CommentsMaria Agnes WARNER née MITCHELL published by Pat Hase - 12 years 2 months 15 days ago. | | Just to clarify a point - No burials actually took place at Christ Church in Weston-super-Mare. As I think you already know she was buried in the Milton Road Cemetery (not far from Christ Church) but a funeral Service might well have been held in the Church rather than the Cemetery Chapel.

Parents William & Susanna. Father's occupation mariner. No age was was recorded against the baptisms but the 1871 census suggests that Maria was born in 1865 which corrisponds with BMD entry for Maria Mitchell March Quarter 1865 Axbridge District, Voume 5c Page 686. Her younger sister Mary Ann was born in 1863.

Sally HERBERT and Sydney SMYTH published by Pat Hase - 12 years 2 months 17 days ago. | | Thank you for drawing our attention to this photograph. I can find Sydney SMYTH as a photographer on the 1881 census living in Langton Grove Road which is just off the end of Waterloo Street in Weston-super-Mare.
There is a burial of a Sydney SMYTH in Weston Cemetery 26th May 1888, aged 67 which might be him. I'm not sure what happened to his wife and son (who was also a Photographer)
Sally HERBERT is even more elusive. As it was a custom for holiday makers to have their photograph taken at the resort she could have come from anywhere. She doesn't look very young so HERBERT might have been her maiden name and Sally an abreviation of Sarah.
Where is you find the photograph - could there be any additional clues to be uncovered?
