This is my grandmother and Annie was my great aunt.  Alice also died in CA and I am not sure of her married name.  The missing link is the borther. William John Gill left in England.  It appears he was in a school for troubled boys but what happened to him after that??

Thomas William Gill was baptized with four other siblings (William Henry, Elizabeth, James and Ellen) on the 5 Feb, 1860 at the Emmanuel Parish Church, Weston Super Mare, Somerset. Children of William ( a Coachman) and Maria Gill. The ceremony was performed by J. Cooke.

Emily Jane Gill was baptized on the 19 Dec 1847. Child of William (a Farmer) and Maria Gill.

James Gill was baptized on the 11 Feb 1856. Child of William (a Omnibus Guard) and Maria Gill.

An unnamed child was baptized on the 11 Feb 1861. Child of William ( a Flyman) and Maria Gill.

I erred with the comments that your G. Grandfather was a mariner. He was a mason. Please ignore my comments re Mariner Deaths for a Thomas Gill.

My apologies, as I misread the 1881 Census where Eliza Gill is the wife of a mason not a mariner.

I have found Thomas Gill (Married; 30yrs; a Stone Mason; b. Weston Super Mare, Somerset), including a brother James Gill (Unmarried; 23yrs; a Stone Mason; b. Weston Super Mare) on the 1881 Census, lodging in Finchley, Middlesex, at Evers Cottages, High Road, with a John E. Tuck (a Blacksmith) and family.
