William and Emma JEFFERIS published by DebbieD - 12 years 3 months 30 days ago. | | Hi Krissy, Not sure how much help this is with what you want to know but I have found these. There was a William and Emma JEFFERIS living at 23 Victoria Road, Redfield, Bristol in 1911. They had two children living with them Ada aged 20 and Frederick 15. All of them give their place of birth as Bristol.
Looking on FreeBMD an Ada Florence A JEFFERIS in Barton Regis District in 1891. Ada F A JEFFERIS married an Arthur R EVERY in 1915 in Bristol.
The death of an Ada Florence A EVERY (Aged 98)was registered in Weston-super-Mare District (includes Congresbury)in 1980. There is also a death of Emma JEFFERIS in the Weston district in 1936. Her age is given as 80 which fits with her being 55 in 1911.
JEFFERIS Family published by Pat Hase - 12 years 3 months 30 days ago. | | Could Emms name have been Emma? You don't say how old you think William and Emms would be in the 1930s, but there is an Emma JEFFERIS who either died or was buried on 8th August 1936, aged 80 in Congresbury - is that roughly the right age? The death of Emma JEFFERIS was registered in Weston in the Sept qrt of 1936 Ref Weston 5c 426 - A copy of her death certificate should confirm whether she was the wife of a William JEFFERIS and if he didn't register her death another relation may have - which might give you a lead. From FreeBMD - there is a William A JEFFERIS whose death was also registered in the Weston-super-Mare district in 1943, aged 88. He's not buried in Congresbury according to a listing of Gravestones and Memorials published some years ago by the Congresbury History Group. I've no proof that this is the family you are looking for but.....On the 1911 Census a William & Emma JEFFERIS, both aged 55, were living in Bristol at 23 Victoria Road Redfield. They have his father, Thomas JEFFERIS, aged 75, living with them and two children, Ada, 20 and Frederick, 15. The census entry also says that William and Emma have been married for 36 years and have had 8 children and 2 have died. Going back to the 1901 census - you will find other children, Agnes, Beatrice, William & Rose - they are living in Bristol at 7, Avonvale Road, Compton Street. Do any of these names ring bells with you?

JEFFERIS Family published by Pat Hase - 12 years 4 months 1 day ago. | | Can you tell us in which village the JEFFERIS family lived - and any first names which they had? In 1911 the only person with the surname JEFFERIS living in the Registration District of Axbridge was a 16 year old Kathleen JEFFERIS who was at school in Weston-super-Mare but was born in Wiltshire. However, there are several families with the name JEFFERIES living in this area. They are mainly in Cheddar, but others are in Bleadon, Burnham on Sea, Worle, Milton etc.
HARSE surname published by DebbieD - 12 years 4 months 18 days ago. | | Hello Allan I am also a HURST with HARSE/HEARSE/HURSE origins. My 3xgt grandfather was Joseph HARSE or HEARSE born around 1794. He unfortunately died in 1849 after appearing in 1841 in Monmouthshire 'not born in county'. It has taken years to track down as much of his life as I can, he lead an 'interesting' life including 3 marriages and spells in Ilchester and Newport gaols but until a short time ago I still didn't have any idea of his place of birth or parents' names. I now have a possible baptism for him in Banwell with parents Thomas HARSE and Margarett (possibly nee PIPE). I am currently exploring this line to see where it takes me.
