Video of Weston-super-Mare in 1969

I'm sorry that you were disappointed - I didn't realise that this was the case.  The BBC Archive site - click here for the link - does have many interesting items which would be of interest to people researching British based families.

The answer to your question is answered by the BBC as followed in their "Frequently Asked Questions"  on the same site under "Help".

"I live outside of the UK. Why can't I watch your programmes?

Unfortunately, due to rights restrictions out of our control, some of the programmes in the BBC Archive Collections are only viewable from within the UK. Most of the radio programmes, plus all of the documents and photo galleries, are available outside of the UK.

We do appreciate that there is a wider audience for this, and that this might be frustrating for non-UK visitors to the site. It's simply that it often costs more money to make programmes available worldwide, which would reduce the amount of programmes we can provide for free. Additionally, as the programmes were funded by UK licence fee payers, our first responsibility is to the UK audience."

the video says 'Not available in your area'.  Any chance these videos could become available in Canada?

Thanks Pat. I had most if that, save for the child William.  Where can I find details of Richards parents given that someone has found details of his marriage?

Richard SAINSBURY
published by Pat Hase - 12 years 9 months 5 days ago.

There is a marriage of a Richard SAINTSBURY [sic] to a Mary WILLIS on the 15th April 1745 at Portbury Church.

I note from FreeREG that children of a Richard & Mary SAINTSBURY were christened in Clapton in Gordano

1748 - William SAINTSBURY

1751 - Mary SAINTSBURY

1753 - Richard Billet SAINTSBURY

1756 - Martha SAINTSBURY

From the names of the children I wonder whether Richard's father might have been a William SAINTSBURY?

William did die in the flu epidemic of 1918 but he  had married and had two sons.  Cyril Robert and Douglas Wilfred (Lesley's father).  Douglas had two children, Lesley and Terence.  Lesley remembers her mother mentioning Philip.

Wow! You have already provided me with some information I did not already have. I knew Willie had emigrated to New Zealand and believed that he had died in the 'flu epidemic of 1918. What I did not know was that he had children! I never heard any mention of them from my grandmother. I have a photo of him and his wife which I can scan and pass on to you - when I can get the help of my children (who find that kind of thing simple). It is my belief that there are not that many descendants of the 12 Jay children as although many married, most did not have children of their own. Put off the idea buy having 11 siblings perhaps? Looks like I have discovered a cousin.
