Beachlands, Beaconsfield Road
published by - 6 years 6 months 17 days ago.

Many thanks, Pat, that is most helpful. I didn't explain why I wanted to know:- Mrs Christina Lace, the widow of my great-uncle John Henry Lace, was living there and died in 1908, and is buried in Milton Road Cemetery, not far from Charles Robert Evors on the other side of my family, whose grave you helped me find a few years ago, you may remember.    So you have given me enormous help on both my parents' sides of the family?

I shall come to Weston sometime soon and be able to see number 6 Beaconsfield Road, knowing it's the right house.   I value your knowledge greatly. Thank you very much!

     Happy Christmas and New Year!

Some roads were renumbered around 1909 but I don't think Beaconsfield Road was - I can tell you that in 1917 and 1923 there was a house called Beachlands at 6, Beaconsfield Road.  Names of houses would most likely have stayed the same even if the number changed - unless a new owner decide to give it a new name!  In 1911 a James HUDSON was living there.

Hi Phil,

You really are tenacious and I thank you for it.

I did as you suggested and contacted The Parish of Three Saints who has passed it on to the Churchwarden at St Michael's, South Brent  and also their historian, I await their findings.  I rather think the register is still with the church and is not yet in the public domain so  not available except by looking at the register iteself.

Thank you for your continuing interest and I will let  you know as soon as I get a response.

Best wishes

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth I'm in Worcestershire but while at a computer I decided to have a look for Harriet's burial & in desperation looked at the Ancestry members trees again & see one has her death as 1873 at South Brent but I cant find any registers for South Brent & this may be with the registers at Brent Knoll church - as you will have guessed by now I don't give up very easily :-). All the very best Phil

Hi Pat You must think me a bit slow but I've only just realised that this query was published by you & in the replies I made I thought it was just as if you were someone asking for help from the FHS not one of the best researchers that I've ever met. I honestly hope that all is going very well for you All the very best Phil ps I'm in Worcestershire for a few weeks if you have any look ups that need doing here within reason
